Hi, My name is Gaayathri and I am in Grade 12 A levels at Vidyashilp Academy in Bangalore.

Vidyashilp has brought in a lot of prestigious organisations and speakers over the months but the Fual A Dream initiative has undoubtedly struck me the most. It amazed me to learn how much power one individual has to change the lives of the people that need it the most.

The simple sense of sight is something we all might take for granted. Growing up seeing my grandparents, aunts and uncles undergo a healthy cataract surgery with no trouble, it never struck me as a rarity only few could afford. So many elderly people across the villages in India do not have access to or cannot afford a surgery. However with the assistance of government subsidies and NGOs, all it takes now is INR 1000 for one person to undergo the surgery

I strongly believe that we can help those who are needy and in the process, transform their lives. Please support my campaign and let us return the gift of sight back into the lives of these people. Keep funding this till the last date. While my goal is INR 20000, together I know we could raise much more and help more elderly people see again.

INR 1000 is what you and I would spend if we went out on a weekend to a theatre to watch a movie and have popcorn and lunch. That amount is all it takes to give sight to one person and change their life and the life of their families.
