My name is Noyonika Dey, a student of grade 9 at the Modern School, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think wearing footwear is something that is a basic need for anyone. Many a times, while travelling through the remote areas and villages of India, I have seen young children going to school in torn and tattered shoes or sometimes even barefoot. It gives me shivers as I cannot imagine myself walking kilometres to school barefoot, every day.
These children who are being supported, through this campaign, in the remote districts of UP are doing well at school despite adverse circumstances and conditions. The fact that my effort of raising money can transform the lives of 100 children or more is something that I am very excited about.
I earnestly request you all to support my campaign to bring about a change in the lives of these fellow students, who hail from very remote and backward areas of Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh. It’s dreadful that these kids of the 21st century still need to walk to school barefoot in extreme weather conditions, where the scorching summer heat goes up to 48⁰ C.
Please fund this campaign. You can also share it on social media as that will be a big help.
Awaiting your support.
