My name is Anirudha Viswanathan and i study in Grade 11 at the Primus school in Bangalore. My hobbies include photography, basketball and reading I am also an avid debater and love public speaking
A few days ago, our school had a program where the team from Fueladream.com told us about a crowdfunding program which is going to help raise awareness and funds for children who are suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). I was surprised to learn about DMD and about how it can be fatal for a large % of those who suffer from it. The fact that 5L boys in India suffer from that was a shocker. Building awareness for it and helping those from underprivileged families manage DMD are key elements of this campaign of mine.
The fact that a amount of just INR 20000 can fund the treatment of a underprivileged child suffering from DMD for an entire year thanks to the efforts of the NGO called DART made me realise that I must do something to help. I strongly believe that we can help children suffering from DMD and make a difference to their lives.
