My name is Akanksha Singh. I am 17-years old and a Grade 12 student at DPS E-City, Bengaluru.
This campaign is extremely close to my heart. I have taken up this initiative because I think being able to impact the lives of young girls who are abandoned/ without a bread winner would be incredible. These girls have no one to look after them. Makkala Dhama will transform their lives as they grow up in a secure environment that will help them focus on their studies. At Makkala Dhama, girls are provided with accommodation, food, clothing, medical care, stationery, books, etc. They attend nearby schools.
The cost to impact a girl for a month is just INR 3333. At Makkala Dhama they are provided with all the necessary facilities to help them grow up into independent and responsible adults. The funds raised through this campaign will definitely help them and in the process give them hope and comfort and will positively impact their lives.
