Hi! My name is Mahi. I am 13 years old and a Grade 9th student at Jayshree Periwal High School, Jaipur.

I have undertaken this campaign as I was flabbergasted to learn about how so many students from low-income homes in Rajasthan, who go to school (which are mainly govt schools) do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.

Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students can face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. These students have to travel to long distances by foot while wearing worn out footwear, which are mainly passed on by the elder ones. Lack of footwear can lead to foot-related diseases and health issues.

The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 2850 for example and transform the lives of 3 students.

I hereby request you to support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit also brings a big smile to their faces and gives them a lot of confidence.
