My name is Ananya Arumugarajan. I am 17 years old and a Grade 12 student at APL Global School, Chennai. I enjoy learning about science, reading, listening to music, and taking on new challenges that help me grow. I am also currently working on a research paper, which has strengthened my curiosity, critical thinking, and passion for learning. I believe that even small actions can create a meaningful impact, and I enjoy being involved in initiatives that give back to the community.

When I learned that many students from low-income families in rural Tamil Nadu attend school without basic necessities such as proper footwear, a school bag, or even a mat to sit on, I was genuinely surprised. Something many of us take for granted can make a huge difference in a child’s education and well-being.

Many children are forced to sit on hard floors for long hours, which can lead to posture-related problems and make it harder to concentrate during class. Some also walk to school without proper footwear, increasing their risk of injuries and foot-related health issues. Every child deserves a safe and comfortable learning environment.

A back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and includes a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat, and a recycled school bag. A donation of INR 3,800 can provide complete kits for four students, helping them attend school with greater comfort, confidence, and dignity.
