My name is ASHWINI and I am a concerned citizen.

I am deeply concerned about the health challenges of poor oral hygiene affecting vulnerable children in orphanages, child care institutions, and special schools. These conditions significantly impact children’s nutrition, immunity, confidence, learning ability, and quality of life.

Screening data shows the scale of the issue: among 1,786 children in orphanages and child care institutions, 32.4% had poor oral hygiene and 22.7% had dental caries. Among 140 visually impaired children, 50% needed better oral hygiene practices, and 34.2% had dental caries.

These facts highlight the urgent need for preventive healthcare among the most vulnerable groups, including children with visual impairment, hearing and speech impairment, institutionalised children, and those with chronic blood disorders.

This campaign aims to bridge these healthcare gaps through a structured 6-month project reaching 2,000 children in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. INR 500 is all it takes to impact one child with complete dental screening, preventive treatments, and awareness sessions.
