My name is Magendra P. and I am a 13-year-old Grade 9 student at Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar, Chennai. I may be young, but I strongly believe that age should never stop someone from caring deeply, noticing a real problem, and choosing to act on it.

I started this campaign because I was genuinely disturbed to learn that many government school students in Tamil Nadu still go to school without basic essentials that many of us take for granted—proper footwear, a school bag, or even a mat to sit on while studying. The more I thought about it, the harder it became to ignore. For a child, these are not small inconveniences. They affect comfort, confidence, health, concentration, and the overall experience of learning.

I have always been someone who thinks deeply about people, ideas, and the difference small actions can make in someone’s life. I care about using whatever ability, awareness, and opportunity I have to do something meaningful. I may not have huge resources or years of experience, but I do have sincerity, determination, and the willingness to take initiative when something feels unfair.

This fundraiser is important to me because it is my way of turning concern into action. I did not want to simply feel bad and move on—I wanted to try, in whatever way I could, to make school a little easier and more dignified for students who deserve the same chance to learn comfortably and confidently as anyone else.
