My name is Vihaan. I am 11 years old and a Grade 7 student at Phoenix Greens School of Learning, Kokapet, Hyderabad.
I started this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low income homes in Telangana, especially in government schools, do not have basic school gear. They often go without proper footwear or a school bag, and many have to sit on the hard ground to study.
Sitting on the floor for long hours causes posture problems for most children. It also affects their eyesight, concentration, and ability to learn. Without footwear, they face foot diseases and other health issues.
The back to school kit costs only INR 950. It gives each student a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit on, and a recycled school bag for books. This small amount can make a big difference. For example, INR 2850 can support three students and change their school experience completely.
