Greetings!! My name is Amoolya. I am 12 and a half years old and a Grade 07 student at Whitefield Global School, Bengaluru.

I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that so many students from low-income homes and families in Karnataka, who go to school (mainly govt schools), do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag, and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.

Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems, like back pains and cramps. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases health issues, and severe cuts across their soles and feet… (yikes!)

This back-to-school kit costs just INR 950!!! It gives students a beautiful pair of recycled footwear, a comfy and recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and an awesome recycled school bag for books!!! This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 2850, for example, and transform the lives of 3 students!!!
