About:
My name is Avaneesh. I am 12 years and a Grade 7 student at Whitefield Global School, Bengaluru.
I have taken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Karnataka, who go to school (mainly govt schools), do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag, and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.
Sitting down on the floor for a long period of time is difficult for some of us but for them in government school it is difficult as they have to sit for 5-6 hours and they have to sit in concrete floors and they have to study like that 5 days daily.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. For example, if we fund INR 2850, it would impact 3 students.
So please support my campaign and let us together impact the health of the students and most importantly school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit also brings a big smile to their faces and gives them a lot of confidence. Many children will be grateful for us to see so many school bags and we would love to see happy faces so please support my campaign.
