My name is Ananya Sharma. I am 11 years old and a Grade 6 student at DPS Sec-45, Gurgaon.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Haryana, who go to school (mainly govt schools) do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag, and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.
Studying in school while sitting on the hard floor will cause the majority of the students to get posture related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and they won't be able to concentrate on their studies. Some students also go to school without proper footwear, which leads to foot related problems and injury.
The back-to-school kit consists of a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled school bag and a recycled study mat for sitting comfortably in school. It costs just INR 950 per kit. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 1,900 for example, and transform the lives of 2 students.
