My name is Kyna Kapoor. I am 11 years old and a Grade 6 student at DPS Gurgaon, Sec-45, Gurgaon.
I started this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income families in Haryana, who go to school (mostly government schools), do not have basic things like proper shoes or a school bag. Many of them also have to sit on the hard ground while studying.
Sitting on the floor for a long time can cause posture problems. It can also affect their eyesight and make it harder for them to focus on their studies. Not having proper footwear can lead to foot problems and other health issues.
A back-to-school kit costs only INR 950. It includes a pair of recycled shoes, a recycled study mat to sit on comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag to carry books. This is a small amount that can make a big difference in a student’s life. For example, by donating INR 1900, you can help 2 students.
