“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted”

My name is Advika Jadhav, I am 14 years old, and a Grade 9 student at Sanskriti School, New Delhi. I am undertaking this crowdfunding campaign because I was deeply surprised to learn that many students in government schools across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh still lack basic school essentials like proper footwear, school bags, and even a comfortable place to sit while studying.

For many of us, these are things we don’t even think twice about. But for these children, sitting on hard ground for long hours is a daily reality. This can lead to posture-related problems, affect concentration, and even impact eyesight over time. The absence of proper footwear also exposes them to injuries and infections, affecting their overall health and school attendance.

This cause feels personal to me. My parents also come from similar backgrounds, and hearing their experiences has helped me understand how small resources can make a big difference in a child’s life. Every student deserves dignity, comfort, and the opportunity to learn without unnecessary physical challenges.

The Back2School kit, which costs Rs 950, includes a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled school bag, and a recycled study mat. These simple, upcycled items not only support sustainability but also directly improve a student’s daily school experience. A contribution of Rs 4,750, for example, can support 5 students and meaningfully transform their learning conditions.

Through this campaign, I hope to improve not just access to essentials, but also boost confidence, attendance, and academic performance among these students. Something as simple as a bag, shoes, or a mat can bring comfort, dignity, and even a smile.
