My name is Atharva singh. I am 12 years old and a Grade Seventh student at Sanskriti School, New Delhi.

I wanted to start a campaign after learning about the challenges faced by many students from low-income families in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh who attend government schools. Despite going to school regularly, many of these students lack even the most basic necessities such as proper footwear, school bags, and a comfortable place to sit. In fact, a large number of them are forced to sit on hard floors for long hours during their classes.

Sitting on the ground for extended periods can lead to serious posture-related problems—studies suggest that nearly 9 out of 10 students may be affected. This not only impacts their physical health but also indirectly affects their concentration, eyesight, and overall ability to learn effectively. Additionally, the absence of proper footwear exposes them to foot-related diseases and other health risks.

To address this issue, we are promoting a simple yet impactful solution: a back-to-school kit costing just INR 950. Each kit includes a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled school bag, and a recycled study mat, providing students with comfort, safety, and dignity both at school and at home.

Even a small contribution can make a big difference. For example, a donation of INR 3800 can support four students, helping improve their health, attendance, and academic performance. More importantly, it brings confidence and joy into their lives.
