My name is Pahal Pardasani. I am 13 years old and a Grade 8 student at École Mondiale World School, Mumbai.
I decided to start this campaign after learning that many students from low-income families in Maharashtra, especially those studying in government schools, do not have basic school essentials. Many of these children come to school without proper footwear or a school bag, and some are forced to sit on the hard floor while studying.
Sitting on the floor for long hours can cause serious posture-related problems. It can also affect students’ eyesight, concentration, and overall ability to learn. Not having footwear increases the risk of foot-related diseases and other health issues.
A complete back-to-school kit costs only INR 950 and includes recycled footwear, a recycled study mat for comfortable seating at school or home, and a recycled school bag. Such a small contribution can make a huge difference. For example, by funding INR 4,750, you can help transform the lives of five students.
