My name is Liya Balasubramaniam Ramya. I am 14 years old and a Grade 9H student at APL Global School, Chennai.
I am passionate about helping others. Supporting people who do not have the same opportunities is something I believe in. Instead of spending money on things we don’t really need, it is always better to use our resources to uplift those who are struggling.

A small change can go a long way, especially for women and girls in low-income families. For many of us, sanitary pads are a basic necessity. But for many girls and women from poor homes, they are considered a luxury. Without access to proper menstrual products, they are often forced to use unhygienic alternatives, which can lead to serious health problems. This also affects their education and income, as they may miss school or work every month.
Through the Go Girl Campaign, I hope to help change this. The menstrual hygiene kit we are promoting is unique because it is reusable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. Each kit contains five pads—three for medium flow and two for heavy flow—and lasts for 18 months, reducing both cost and waste. Disposable pads cost ₹50–₹100 per month and create large amounts of harmful waste, while this kit offers a sustainable and long-lasting solution.
The cost of each hygiene kit—including distribution and training—is just ₹500. Because distribution happens in small batches, training and logistics cost more, but even a small contribution can create a big impact. For example, funding ₹3000 can transform the lives of six girls or women.
