My name is Atreyi Roy. I am 15 years old and a Grade 10 student at DPS Electronic City School, Karnataka.
I have taken up this campaign to support children who have cancer and their families with a monthly ration basket. I have joined this campaign because food and nutrition are a critical element in the treatment of these children who go through the difficult journey of fighting cancer. While many organizations sponsor treatment for financially stressed patients, very few address an equally important issue their food and nutrition. Children from low-income homes are often malnourished. Malnourished patients respond poorly to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery, with more side effects, delays in treatment, and even abandonment of therapy. In fact, malnutrition doubles the risk of death due to cancer.
The cost to impact a child is only ₹4500.
