My name is Someshwar Thatipally. I am 13 years old and a Grade 8 student at Suchitra Academy International School, Hyderabad.

I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Telangana, who go to school (mainly govt schools), do not have basic school gear like proper footwear (They walk miles without shoes to come to school ang to go home which causes a problem as they might get cuts, and problem in attendance) or a school bag(They walk miles which is already a problem whereas there is another problem in carrying books without a bag while walking), and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.(They do not only sit on the hard ground in school but also in home)

Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.

The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 2850, for example, and transform the lives of 3 students. I like to help people I just do not want to help only 1 or 2 people I want to help a lot of people at once which benefits a lot of people.
