About:
My name is Pakhi Bindal. I am 14 years old and a Grade 9 student at EuroSchool, Airoli, Mumbai.
I have taken up this campaign to support children battling cancer and their families by providing them with a monthly ration basket.
I chose this cause because food and nutrition play a crucial role in the treatment journey of these young fighters. While many individuals and organizations help fund the medical treatment of financially stressed patients, very few address an equally important need — their FOOD AND NUTRITION.
Children from low-income families are often malnourished. Malnourished patients respond poorly to medical interventions such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery. This leads to increased toxicity, frequent treatment interruptions, and an inability to receive timely, full-dose chemotherapy, all of which reduce the effectiveness of treatment. In fact, malnutrition significantly increases the chances of treatment abandonment and doubles the risk of death from cancer.
The cost to support and impact one child is only ₹4,500.
