About:
My name is Anya Yadav. I am 16 years old and a Grade 11 student at DPS Gurgaon, Sector 45.
I have taken up this campaign to support children battling cancer and their families by providing them with a monthly ration basket.
While many individuals and organizations help cover the cost of treatment, there is a crucial area that often goes unnoticed — nutrition.
Children from low-income homes are often malnourished. Malnourished patients respond poorly to medical interventions such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and/or surgery, with increased episodes of toxicity, interruptions in hospital admissions, and inability to take timely chemotherapy in full doses, leading to a poor response to treatment. Overall, malnutrition increases the rate of abandonment of therapy and doubles the risk of death due to cancer.
Food is not just a basic need — for these children, it is a powerful part of their healing. Proper nutrition provides the strength, energy, and resilience their bodies need to withstand aggressive treatments and recover faster.
The cost to support one child with a month's nutrition basket is only INR 4,500 — a small contribution that can make a life-saving difference.
Because no child should lose the fight against cancer simply due to a lack of food.
