My name is Auhona Mukerji. I am 15 years old and a Grade10 student at Whitefield Global School, Bangalore.
I have taken up this initiative because I think being able to impact the lives of young girls who are as old as I am would be incredible.
These girls have lost their parents during the COVID-19 Pandemic and have no one to look after them.
Makkala Dhama will transform their lives as they grow up in a secure environment that will help them focus on their studies.
At Makkala Dhama, girls attend nearby schools and are provided with accommodation, food, clothing, medical care, stationery, books, etc.
The cost to help a girl secure provisions necessary for 4.5 months is just INR 15,000.
The shelter home will provide all the necessary facilities to help them grow into independent and responsible adults. This campaign gives them hope and comfort and will positively impact their lives.
This campaign is extremely close to my heart.
