My name is Meisha. I am 14 years old and a Grade 9 student at Vidyaniketan School, Bengaluru.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was shocked to discover that many students from low-income homes in Karnataka lack basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag, and are often seated on the cold, hard floor in order to study at school for long periods of time.
The absence of proper seating arrangements lead to concerning posture-related problems, and has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study.
The lack of footwear leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and with it comes a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to which makes a large impact on a student.
Please, support my campaign, and together we shall impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these students. This kit is guaranteed to bring a big smile to their faces and help them gain confidence.
