About:
My name is Bhavya Gupta. I am 16 years old and a Grade 12 student at Jayshree Periwal International School in Jaipur.
I have started this campaign to support children with cancer and their families by providing monthly ration baskets. This initiative is crucial in the treatment of children who face the challenging journey of fighting cancer. While many individuals and organizations assist with the treatment of financially burdened patients, few address the equally important issue of their food and nutrition.
Children from low-income families often suffer from malnutrition. Malnourished patients respond poorly to medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery, leading to increased episodes of toxicity, interruptions in hospital stays, and the inability to receive timely, full doses of chemotherapy, which ultimately results in a poor response to treatment. Overall, malnutrition raises the likelihood of therapy abandonment and doubles the risk of death due to cancer.
The cost to help one child is only INR 4500.
