My name is Rujula Dhange. I am 15 years old and a Grade 11 student at The Kalyani School, Pune.
Through this campaign, I am raising funds to provide monthly ration kits to children battling cancer. These children, beyond fighting a life-threatening illness, are also burdened by an often overlooked struggle -malnutrition. These children come from families with limited means and often lack access to the most basic human need, nutritious food.
While many generous individuals and organizations step in to sponsor medical treatments, one essential part of recovery often goes overlooked, which is proper nutrition. Without it, even the most advanced medical interventions such as chemotherapy or radiation, can fall short. Malnourished children are more likely to experience intense side effects, delays in therapy, and a longer, more difficult recovery process. In many cases, they may be forced to abandon their therapy altogether. This not only worsens their condition but also increases the risk of death.
Among all the things that go into cancer recovery, I never expected food to be one of the most powerful. But without it, even the strongest will to fight isn’t enough. That’s why I have undertaken this campaign, to make sure no child has to give up on treatment because they are too weak to go on.
Food isn’t just about survival, it’s about strength. Strength to withstand treatment, to recover, and to keep fighting every single day.
