My name is Chethan. I am 13 years old and a Grade 9 student at Sishya, Adyar.

have undertaken this campaign because I strongly believe that every child deserves to learn, grow, and dream without being limited by their circumstances. During my observation and research, I realized that many children studying in government schools across Tamil Nadu are facing daily challenges that most of us often take for granted.

Many of these children walk long distances to school without proper footwear, exposing them to injuries, infections, and extreme weather conditions. Some of them carry their books in torn or plastic bags because they cannot afford a proper backpack. And once they reach their schools, they are met with classrooms that lack even the most basic facilities like chairs or benches — forcing them to sit on cold floors for hours.

Education is a powerful tool that can change lives but how can children focus on learning when their basic needs are not met? No child should have to suffer or feel inferior simply because of poverty.

This campaign is my humble effort to support these children by providing them with essential items like footwear, backpacks, and classroom furniture. These may seem like small things, but to a child, they can make a world of difference — improving their comfort, health, self-esteem, and overall learning experience.

By coming together and contributing, we can bring smiles to these young faces and ensure that lack of resources doesn’t stand in the way of their education or their dreams.

This campaign is not just about donating things — it’s about dignity, care, and creating a positive environment for children to learn and thrive. It is about giving them hope, confidence, and the simple joy of going to school prepared and proud.
