Hi, my name is Kabir Girottee. I’m 12 years old and currently studying in Grade 8 at The Kalyani School, Pune.

I started this campaign after learning something that really moved me — many children from low-income families in Maharashtra, especially those attending government schools, don’t have even the most basic school essentials. They often go to school without proper footwear, carry their books in plastic bags or by hand, and spend hours sitting on hard classroom floors to study.

This isn’t just uncomfortable — it’s unhealthy. Sitting on the floor for long periods can cause posture issues for 9 out of 10 children, and it affects their eyesight, focus, and ability to learn. No footwear means a higher risk of infections and foot-related illnesses too.

That’s why I’m raising funds for a simple but powerful solution: the Back-to-School Kit. For just ₹950, each kit provides a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled school bag, and a recycled study mat so students can sit and study comfortably — whether at school or at home.
