About:
My name is Nayantara Choksi. I am 15 years old and a Grade 10 student at The Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai.
I have undertaken this campaign because I learnt that in the heart of Mumbai, many families fighting pediatric cancer (i.e., the child is battling cancer) face a second, silent battle: hunger and lack of a home. While seeking life-saving treatment, patients and their caregivers often find themselves with no place to stay and no way to afford nutritious meals.
The Rotary Club of Bombay in partnership with the HDFC Foundation, provides a clean, safe environment for patients and their caregivers at a home they have created in Parel. These children to truly heal also need good food and this where the Dharamshala Kitchen initiative comes in. The kitchen provides three wholesome meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, specifically designed to meet the nutritional needs of recovering patients and their caregivers.
The cost of three meals is just INR 125. This is a very small amount to impact a child and the caregiver. Fund INR 5000, for example, and impact 40 patients/caregivers with 120 nutritious meals
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health of these children and their caregivers. This will bring a big smile to their faces and aids them in their recovery (as they need to be healthy to battle cancer).
