About:
My name is Akshara Dhandhania. I am 15 years old and a Grade 11 student at Indus International School, Pune.
I have undertaken this campaign to support children with cancer and their families by providing them with Monthly Ration Baskets.
This initiative is close to my heart because proper food and nutrition are critical elements in the treatment of paediatric cancer patients. While many individuals and organizations sponsor the medical treatment of financially stressed patients, very few address the equally important issue of ensuring these children have access to nutritious food.
Children from low-income homes are often malnourished, which severely impacts their treatment. Poor nutrition weakens their immune system, making them more vulnerable to complications and reducing the effectiveness of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. Malnourished patients often experience treatment delays, increased side effects, and a higher risk of abandoning therapy, which doubles the likelihood of death due to cancer.
Through this campaign, we aim to provide nutrient-rich Monthly Ration Baskets to paediatric cancer patients from three hospitals in Pune. Each kit is designed to meet their dietary needs and includes essential food items that will help strengthen their bodies, improve treatment outcomes, and give them a better fighting chance.
The cost to impact a child’s life is just INR 4,500.
With your generous support, we can ensure that no child battling cancer has to suffer from hunger or malnutrition. Join me in making a difference—every donation brings us one step closer to saving a life.
Thank you for your kindness and support!
