About:
We are Tanishi Agarwal and Anwita Belambe, Grade 11 students at Indus International School, Pune, deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children battling cancer. Through our initiative, we aim to provide monthly ration baskets to children from financially underprivileged families, ensuring that their journey through cancer treatment is supported by something as vital as proper nutrition.
Our campaign stems from the understanding that while several organizations sponsor medical treatments like chemotherapy and surgeries for these children, few address the equally significant issue of food and nutrition. Malnourishment is a silent barrier to effective treatment. Children from low-income households often face malnutrition, which hampers their ability to respond positively to medical interventions. Without adequate nutrition, the risk of treatment-related toxicity, therapy abandonment, and mortality doubles.
Cancer is a battle that no child should face alone, and we believe that no family should have to choose between treatment and sustenance. With this initiative, we hope to bridge the gap and give these children a better chance at recovery. A simple monthly contribution of INR 4500 can greatly impact a child’s life.
Both of us are passionate about creating change in the community. With our empathy-driven approach, we are determined to make this campaign successful. Together, we aim to ensure that every child has the nutrition they need to fight their battles.
