About:
My name is TANEESHI YADLA. I am 15 years old and from EuroSchool, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. I am doing this campaign to educate tribal children from remote villages in Telangana.
Millions of tribal children in India grow up without access to even basic education due to the absence of schools in their villages, lack of infrastructure, and limited awareness about the importance of education. These children are often the first generation in their families with the chance to go to school, yet many remain deprived.
To solve this, the NGO Friends of Tribals Society (FTS) runs the Ekal Vidyalaya (One Teacher School) model in remote tribal villages across India. Each school is managed by a single trained teacher and provides basic education in reading, writing, math, science, and values to about 30 children, for 3 hours a day, 6 days a week.
It costs just INR 30000 to run one such school for an entire year, covering the teacher’s cost, study materials, training, and program management. Fund INR 2500 for example, and support the entire school for a month; INR 5000 funds the school for two months, and 15000 for 6 months.

I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Telangana, who go to school (mainly govt schools) do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 950 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 1900 for example and transform the lives of 2 students.
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit also brings a big smile to their faces and gives them a lot of confidence.
