About:
My name is Diya Prasanth. I am 14 years-old and a Grade 10 student at the Vidya Niketan School, Bengaluru.
I joined this cause after learning that a sizable number of students from Karnataka coming from families with limited resources attending government schools, lack essential school supplies like a backpack and appropriate shoes, and frequently study on the rough ground for hours on end.
Students who spend 5 to 6 hours a day, sitting on the floor, will experience posture-related issues, not to mention back pain and joint pain. Additionally, it indirectly affects their eyesight, focus, and academic performance, causing them to miss around 40 to 50 days of a school year. Health problems and foot-related illnesses are also brought on by inadequate footwear, making going to school a nightmare rather than something to look forward to.
For INR 900, we will be able to provide a child with a school bag, study mat and a pair of shoes. Imagine, one weekend movie at a multiplex with popcorn and coke cost around 1000Rs. By letting go of just one movie outing, you could make a difference to a child’s future. Moreover, the items in the ‘Back to School Kit’ are made from recycled shoes and clothes which would otherwise end up in a landfill, polluting the earth.
Join us in this effort. Together, lets brighten the future of these fellow students. Help us gift a smile and make a difference.
