My name is Shobhita Nehra. I am 14-years-old and a Grade 9 student at The Pathways School, Noida.

I have decided to undertake this campaign because this was something close to my heart. I have earlier worked with low income home and underprivileged children and the project stays very close to my heart. Everyone deserves an opportunity to do the things we got to do. To be able to provide that to them and think more about our actions and their consequences has changed my life.

I'm hoping to change these students life too who are from low-income homes in Uttar Pradesh, who go to school do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or a school bag and often sit on the hard ground in order to study at school.

Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues. These kids should also be provided with basic school resources that we all have. Everyone deserved this right. Facing problems like this is not something they should be going through.

The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home and a recycled school bag for books. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 4500 for example and transform the lives of 5 students. A small step forward can potentially change these students lives forever. It helps bring a smile to their face and you are the reason for it.
