My name is Vayurve. I am 14 years old and in Grade 9 student at The KC High International School, Chennai.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was troubled to learn that many students from low-income households in Tamil Nadu, especially those who go to govt. schools, do not have basic school gear like proper footwear or even a school bag and often have to sit on hard ground in order to study at school.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related
and spine problems. It also indirectly impacts their eyesight as well as their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and issues.
This back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit on comfortably at school or at home, and a recycled school bag for to carry books. This is a very small amount for something that will be a huge impact to these kids. Funding of INR 4500, for example, would transform the entire lives of 5 students.
This kit also will bring a big smile to their faces and give them lots of confidence. Please support my campaign and let us impact the health, school attendance, and grades of the future of our nation, together.
