My name is Kaashvi Adya. I am 14 years old and in Grade 9 at the Vivek High School, Chandigarh.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes do not have basic school gear like footwear, a school bag and they actually sit on the hard ground.
Many of the students in rural schools in Himachal and at some schools in Punjab sit down on the floor for long periods of time. 9 in 10 students consequently face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 (including distribution costs) and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a school bag for books, and a cloth mask. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Funding INR 3600 for example will transform the lives of 4 students. It will bring a big smile to their face and get them excited about going to school.
Please support my campaign and let us together impact the health, school attendance, and grades of these fellow students. This kit also gives them a lot of confidence.
