My name is Abia Alam. I am 15-years-old and in Grade 10th at the EuroSchool, Airoli. I am passionate about helping the under privileged and needy people. I have keen interest in art and colours help me refresh my mind. I aim to be a person who looks forward in making world a better place for our generations to come.
For girls and women from financially weak backgrounds, access to sanitary napkins is a luxury. They often resort to unhygienic alternatives which can be very hazardous to health. Sanitary napkins are a basic necessity for every woman. The cost of providing reusable sanitary napkins which would last for 2 years is only INR 250.
Through this campaign, I intend to give them a menstrual hygiene kit that is cost-effective, and lasts long. The Hygiene kit consist of 2 regular shields, 6 regular liners, 1 large shield, 2 large liners, 1 Instruction manual, 1 zip-lock bag and 1 drawstring bag to hold everything together. These are stitched by women from low-income homes thus serving as a source of livelihood for them.
