About:
My name is Anushka Verma. I am 14 years old and a Grade 9 student at the Chirec International School in Hyderabad.

COVID-19 has impacted millions of people. The worst-hit are the poor, migrants, and daily wage workers. Hyderabad & Telangana have not been spared and we are seeing its impact all around us. There has been a surge in cases & the situation will only get worse before it gets better. The bigger concern and the biggest need is for food. Feeding them is the number one -COVID relief measure.

India has been put in lockdown to halt the spread of the coronavirus outbreak. People have been told to stay indoors, but for many daily-wage earners this is not an option. There are many daily wage workers and migrants who are not even getting their basic living necessity which is food.Daily wage workers are battling for survival during this COVID-19 crisis .Some migrant workers, stuck in distant corners with no transport to take them back to their villages, others are scrounging to make ends meet with no money coming in. And all are getting increasingly frantic on how they and their families will manage in the days and weeks to come. The stories are many -- varied and yet the same, of hopes for the future dimming and dreams of prosperity receding into the unseen distance. The bright lights of a big city had beckoned Bhupesh Kumar, a 22-year-old daily wage labourer from Bihar's Begusarai district who is now stuck in Delhi, unable to either go back home or earn a livelihood here. There is no way in which he can earn money or go back home.He is struggling to survive during this crisis. Like Bhupesh there are millions of people who are struggling to survive during this pandemic. Isn't it our responsibility to help these people?
Giving isn’t a business transaction. It’s a human connection. Donating feels good. At this juncture, it is our responsibility as the privileged sections of the society need to step up & support them through this difficult time. The initiative I am doing with Akshaya Patra is to help feed thousands of people. Akshaya Patra has already served and distributed over 5 CRORE meals across India and over 60 lakh meals/food packs in Hyderabad/ Telangana. The need and demand for more meals continue.

I request all of you to support my campaign so that we can also contribute to their well-being in our own small little way. Let's come together and do our bit to help our fellow countrymen.
