I am Avani Edlabadkar from stage 10 of CHIREC International School.
In the last three years, I have been a volunteer in social services such as Save the Lakes and the community service committee in my school. In my school’s committee, I helped in organising events for the students of the Masjid Banda Government School, a school adopted by CHIREC. I have always had an intuition that I will contribute effectively in a social enterprise. The above experiences reinforced this instinct of mine. The speech of Mr Ranganath made me realise that the financial aspect of any innovative product or campaign was extremely important and crowdfunding is one of the most effective and suitable way for raising funds for a social enterprise.
The COVID-19 pandemic has put many under-privileged citizens of our country on the brink of starvation. This opportunity presented by the Fuel a Dream organisation combines the factors that interest me greatly; contributing to Akshaya Patra's social initiative and raising funds for the same. I will be privileged to do my bit to help my fellow countrymen in this difficult time.
