My name is SURESH HARI. I am a concerned citizen.
This campaign of mine is for a cause that is very relevant and has a high impact.
The initiative aims to transform the lives of 8000 tribals living at Amrit Mahal Kaval. This is an area located in the Challakere taluk of the Chitradurga district in Karnataka. This land is spread across 1500 acres and is home to 8000 tribals living across 7 villages. Their livelihood is off this land which once used to be a lush grassland.
Unfortunately due to intense deforestation, the land is barren and the tribals are facing challenging times. There are no/ very less trees, water bodies have dried up and land has become unfit for cultivation or grazing. There are 5 schools here that also are in need of renovation. This has brought untold misery and life is slowly coming to a standstill for them. There is a need to bring it back to life - literally !!
A 1500-acre forest will be created through the planting of 5 Lakh saplings, water bodies will be rejuvenated and the 5 schools in this area will be refurbished. The cost of executing all this is INR 18.75 CR.
Me and other concerned citizens are coming together to improve the lives of the tribals in the area and need your help to make this happen. The cost of INR 18.75 CR works out to INR 1.25L per acre (as 1500 acres have to be impacted). This translates to INR 24000 per tribal (INR 18.75 CR/8000 tribals).
We need to raise a massive amount of INR 18.75 Crore. So continue funding my campaign even if it goes past its initial goal. Together, let's bring hope to the 8000 tribals living here and transform their lives for generations to come
