THE BACKGROUND:

Guru has been a pillar of honesty and trustworthiness for 27 years, earning the deep respect of those he serves through his hard work as a domestic help at our house. He and his wife, Bharti, represent the incredible resilience of India’s hardworking low-income section domestic workforce, laboring for 12-15 hours every single day. They are parents to two lovely girls, Gauri (8 years old) and Monika (6 years old). This family’s bond is built on a foundation of integrity and honesty, making them truly deserving of a helping hand from the community.

 
Gauri and Monika are vibrant students who are attending Amar Public School in Noida, where they consistently achieve high marks despite the challenges at home. While they find joy in the simple pleasures of singing, dancing, and coloring, their reality is framed by the grit of their surroundings. Their story is not just one of struggle, but of a deep-seated desire to climb higher through the power of education. This campaign aims to provide a stable foundation that ensures their education is never interrupted by any economic hardship.

THE INITIATIVE:

For the past half-decade, a small group of family and friends has acted as the primary bridge for the girls' schooling, covering everything from tuition to uniforms. This initiative was born out of a personal connection to Guru and a belief that Gauri and Monika’s talents should not be wasted. We have seen them grow from toddlers into bright students from UKG and grade 2, proving that financial backing yields tangible academic results. However, as the girls grow and educational costs rise, our initial funding pool is beginning to deplete, necessitating a more formal call for aid. This campaign seeks to transition from temporary help to a sustainable long-term sponsorship model that guarantees their graduation.

Through this campaign, we aim to support these young girls by securing their academic journey at just INR 50,000 per year. Through this initiative, we aim to provide them with a self-sufficient future.

ABOUT ME:

My name is Payal Dang, and I am doing this campaign to secure the education of two young girls, Gauri Sarkar and Monika Sarkar, who are the daughters of my domestic help Mr Guru Sarkar.

For the past 27 years, my family and I have known Guru Sarkar as a man of profound honesty, integrity, and tireless dedication to his work. Seeing his young daughters, Gauri and Monika, thrive in school despite their parents laboring 12-15 hours a day has inspired us to ensure their journey doesn't stop due to the lack of funds. While we have supported their fees and uniforms for the last five years, the path to Grade 12 is long, and we need your help to secure it.

Gauri, who is 8, and Monika, who is 6, are more than just students; they are talented young girls who love to sing, dance, and dream of a bigger world. It breaks my heart to think that financial constraints could pull such bright spirits out of the classroom and away from their potential.
