THE BACKGROUND:
Wheelchair cricket has become a powerful source of hope for people who have lost their mobility due to accidents or lifelong conditions. For many, life changes overnight. They face pain, isolation, and the fear of not being able to do what they once loved. Wheelchair cricket helps rebuild that lost confidence by giving them a place to play, connect, and feel included again. Through the sport, they find a new purpose, new friends, and a new identity that goes beyond their disability.
Each of the team members has gone through a tragedy that left them without the use of their lower limbs. Wheelchair cricket has given them purpose and helped them transform into confident individuals. Sagar is one such person.

For Sagar and other players, their inspiring story begins with a setback. Accidents and illnesses left them with physical disabilities. Yet, they've found empowerment through wheelchair cricket, which has boosted their confidence and self-esteem.
THE INITIATIVE

Rotary Bengaluru Disha, in partnership with Kshamata Innovation Foundation, is organising a Wheelchair Cricket League in T20 format from the 9th to 13th of December 2025 at KSCA’s Alur Cricket Stadium, Bengaluru. Six city teams will compete in this exciting tournament: Bengaluru Eagles, Chennai Legends, Hyderabad Hawks, Mumbai Fighters, Delhi Dominators, and Lucknow Stallions. This event brings together talented wheelchair athletes from across India to showcase their skills, passion, and teamwork on a professional platform.
The main goals of the league are to establish wheelchair cricket as a professional and sustainable sport, create career opportunities for wheelchair athletes, and promote awareness, inclusion, and dignity through the power of sport.

Wheelchair cricket gives hope to people who have lost mobility due to accidents or illness. Many of them struggle with confidence and feel left out, but the sport helps them rebuild their strength, make friends, and feel like they belong again. It shows them that life can still be active and meaningful.
To support this spirit, Rotary Bengaluru Disha, in partnership with Kshamata Innovation Foundation, is hosting a Wheelchair Cricket League in T20 format. The league will be conducted from 9th to 13th December 2025 at KSCA’s Alur Cricket Stadium. Six city teams will participate. It costs INR 9.2L to bring this event to life.

ABOUT ROTARY BANGALORE DISHA
Rotary Bangalore Disha is the newest club part of RI District 3192. They started it during the pandemic with 20 strong members who are determined to give back to the community. The members are a great mix of experienced youth from diverse communities and regions. The club has already started working on community service projects like providing ration kits to migrant laborers, gloves, and masks during the pandemic.
The flagship project of the club is to help build awareness as well as commit to treating pediatric thalassemia for the underprivileged.
