THE BACKGROUND:
India has made remarkable progress in expanding access to education over the past two decades, yet gender inequality remains deeply entrenched. While boys are encouraged to pursue schooling, many girls continue to face cultural, social, and financial barriers that prevent them from learning. In underserved communities, educating a daughter is often seen as optional, even unnecessary, which means that countless girls never get the chance to pursue their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, or leaders.
The reasons many girls in India are still out of school are complex and deeply rooted. Financial hardship, social norms that undervalue girls’ education, and early marriages are among the most significant barriers. For families surviving on daily wages, even the modest cost of tuition fees, uniforms, and books can feel impossible, often forcing parents to withdraw their daughters from school. With each missed opportunity, the cycle of inequality continues, trapping generations of girls in the same struggle.
THE SOLUTION:
Inspire Her is a student-led initiative that I founded. Since its inception, I have connected with over two thousand young women, providing mentorship, internships, workshops, and networks to support their growth. Now, I am taking the next step, working directly with underprivileged girls to ensure they receive the wings of education they need to soar.

This time, I am planning to do this by funding the schooling of students studying in DPS Shiksha Kendra, covering tuition, uniforms, and books, so that no girl has to drop out simply because of financial barriers.
My goal is to raise INR 111000, which will allow us to support 20 girls.
By educating even one girl, I am not only changing a girl's life but also uplifting her family, strengthening her community, and transforming generations to come.

ABOUT ME:
I am Ria Godha, a Grade 12 student at Heritage Xperiential Learning School, Gurgaon, and the founding lead of Inspire Her. My journey is rooted in a deep commitment to gender equality, education, and empowering women to shape their own futures. Beyond Inspire Her, I have led initiatives at Heritage Xperiential Learning School and GIDE.AI to build inclusive spaces, while my journalistic work has focused on issues like harassment, legal rights, and social estrangement, using storytelling to amplify women’s voices and spark meaningful dialogue.
Since its inception, Inspire Her, a student-led initiative founded by me, has connected with more than 2,000 young women across India through mentorship, internships, workshops, and networks. Now, we are taking the next step by supporting underprivileged girls at DPS Shiksha Kendra, ensuring their schooling is not cut short due to financial hardship. With just INR 5,000, we can cover a girl’s tuition, uniforms, and books for an entire year.
My work with nonprofits has shown me how education transforms not only individual lives but entire communities. With Inspire Her, I am determined to equip, inspire, and support girls to stay in school, dream bigger, and lead the way toward a more equal and inclusive world.
MY WORK SO FAR:
Inspire Her is deeply rooted in community initiatives, working both online and offline to create meaningful impact. Online career awareness workshops have been organised on topics such as marketing, technology, and the importance of soft skills, featuring top industry experts and engaging over 350 participants. Beyond the digital space, interactions with students, parents, and mentors have taken place in person to spread the mission and vision. The magazine brings together contributors from across India, including Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Tamil Nadu, and Gurgaon, further amplifying women’s voices. Through these efforts and the dedicated core committees, Inspire Her continues to build a strong, inclusive community committed to empowering young women.
