Many families have lost their livelihoods and access to basic necessities like food and healthcare. The devastating floods in Mandi district have left a trail of destruction, with 386 houses fully damaged, according to the District Disaster Management Authority. Currently, 500 families are in dire need of immediate flood relief.

I have joined hands with The Indian Red Cross Society in Mandi district, which is a vibrant, voluntary humanitarian organization with a nationwide network. They are actively responding to the Himachal Pradesh flood crisis. With its network of volunteers and resources, the society is providing:
- Emergency relief and rescue operations.
- Medical aid and health services.
- Food, shelter, and essential supplies to affected families.
- Support for vulnerable populations, including children and their families.
According to recent reports, there are over 1,200 families affected by the disaster, with immediate requirements for essential supplies like tents, blankets, and food being dispatched to the flood-hit areas in Mandi district.
It costs INR 7 lakhs to support a family in reconstructing their home, providing them with a safe and secure future. Your contribution can make a significant difference in their lives.

My name is Radha Malhotra. I am 17 years old and a grade 12 student at Aditya Birla World Academy, Mumbai. While born and raised in Mumbai, my roots are in Himachal. And it is heartbreaking for me to see our beautiful Himalayas being ravaged by floods.

As we reflect on the memories of "work from Himachal" days, when the state's serene landscapes and welcoming spirit drew people from all over, we must come together to support its recovery.
The valley that once hosted corporate employees, businessmen, and families, who found solace in its clean air and open spaces, now needs our help. Children who once learnt 1-2-3 by gathering pine cones now face an uncertain future. It's time for us to reciprocate the state's hospitality and share the responsibility of rebuilding.
The recent floods have brought unprecedented challenges, and the state needs our collective support to overcome them. Just as we once collected plastic bottles to protect our forests and rivers, we must now come forward to help rebuild homes and lives.
