THE BACKDROP
India is home to a vast and diverse population, with millions of children from disadvantaged backgrounds struggling to access quality education. According to UNESCO, India has the largest number of out-of-school children in the world. For families living in poverty, accessing quality education is a significant challenge.
Despite their potential and talent, these students face numerous barriers, including inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of qualified teachers, and limited access to resources. The lack of quality education perpetuates a cycle of poverty, as parents who have not experienced the benefits of education are less likely to prioritize their children's education.

As a result, students drop out, undermining their prospects. This systemic issue demands comprehensive solutions to empower these students. Inadequate infrastructure, shortage of qualified teachers, and limited resources exacerbate the issue.

THE PROBLEM
The SWIS Foundation has identified four vulnerable schools in Kolkata, West Bengal. These schools have crumbling infrastructure, cramped classrooms, and inadequate basic amenities like toilets and clean water facilities. The schools lack essential resources, including uniforms, books, and stationery, making it difficult for students to focus on their studies. The overall atmosphere is one of neglect and disrepair, hindering the ability of students to receive a quality education and reach their full potential.

The above images clearly show the dilapidated condition of the identified schools, which require immediate renovations.
THE INITIATIVE
The SWIS Foundation aims to address these challenges by providing comprehensive support to vulnerable schools, empowering students to unlock their potential and create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
The funds raised in this campaign will be used to improve the school infrastructure and support the education of children who study there.
JUST INR 16000 WILL EDUCATE A CHILD FOR A YEAR.
(includes school renovation, fees, books, uniforms, stationery, and more).

EXPENSE SHEET:

ABOUT ME AND THIS CAMPAIGN

My name is Varish Mohta. I am 14 years old and in Grade 9 at the Calcutta International School.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think it is very meaningful to impact the life of an underprivileged student by supporting their education. Many families are unable to afford to send their children to school. They prefer to send them to work. I believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or financial situation.
I was thrilled to learn about this initiative by the SWIS Foundation, which provides education to underprivileged students. This will help them continue their education and achieve their dreams. Just INR 16000 will support their education for an entire year.
Empowering these children through education, especially those from economically backward families, has a massive impact on the entire family for generations to come, while also breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for themselves and their communities. These students grow up to be more confident and take on responsibilities that they would normally shy away from.
Please support my campaign, as a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on these deserving students from a vulnerable school. Let us together lend a helping hand and transform their lives.

Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept and is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such pooling of funds. You can fund innovations and ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding.
