FACTS: Sandhya Suraksha is a new home started by Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) to provide safe shelter and take care of 70 homeless elderly women. The costs incurred to take care of an elderly woman is just INR 8000 per month.
I have started this campaign to raise funds to bring joy to the lives of elderly women who are abandoned and need a home. INR 24000 can fund the stay, care and medical costs of one elderly destitute woman for 3 months. The more we raise the longer we can take care of them.
Read on to discover how. I am doing this crowdfunding campaign in partnership with NMT. The Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) is a well-established and reputed not-for-profit NGO working for the wellbeing of the elderly since 1998 in Bangalore. NMT is striving to keep family bonds intact through innovative and community-based support systems for elders of all socio-economic groups.
Sandhya Suraksha is a new home started by Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT) to provide safe shelter and take care of 70 Homeless elderly women. They need funding to take care of these women. Donations are eligible for tax exemption under 80G of the IT Act of 1961.
The money raised will be given directly after the campaign ends to NGO. They will then use the funds to support the destitute elderly women. I shall then send you an update about the woman/women who benefitted.
CASE STUDY :
Read on to discover whose life you could be transforming. These are women who have usually given their entire life to bringing up near and dear ones only to be shown the door in their twilight years. Giving them a home will bring joy to their lives and reaffirm their belief in humanity.
ABOUT ME :
My name is Vismaya Pillai and I am a student of Grade 12 studying in the IBDP program at the Greenwood High International School in Bangalore. I have started this campaign to raise funds in order to give love, care and stability to the lives of elderly women who are abandoned, destitute and in need of a home. The funds raised from this campaign will go towards helping these women in partnership with the NGO Nightingales Medical Trust (NMT). They will take care of the food and medical costs of these destitute women as well as their stay and care.
I have been inspired to take up this cause and help elderly destitute women as their plight during the second half of their lives is a horrible reality. These women have dedicated their entire lives to improving the lives of their children and family, but in their time of need, they are abandoned and shunned. By supporting my cause you are helping me provide the necessary funds to support them. We make a living from what we get, but we make a life from what we give, and so I urge you to lend your support to this cause. A simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on someone else's life and with your help I can truly make a difference here. After all, no act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.
As an individual, I am trying to raise INR 24,000 to fund the entire cost of looking after one elderly destitute woman for a period of 3 months. Let us make a difference together. Let us bring happiness and joy into a life. Please fund this campaign even after the goal has been achieved (for as long as it runs) as any extra funds I collect will be used to fund the elder's care for a longer period of time.
COST SHEET :
The sheet below shows how the need for funding is just INR 8000 per woman per month. Help me raise INR 24000 or more and we can fund their stay for 3 months or more.

How does crowdfunding work?
Crowdfunding in India is a relatively new concept & is growing very quickly.
It’s a concept that allows a large number of funders (like you) to fund an Idea or a cause or event by giving small amounts of money online. Fueladream.com is a crowdfunding platform in India that allows for such a pooling of funds. You can fund innovations & ideas on FuelADream and be the first to get these products or make them come true. You can also do a good turn by funding charities and causes through crowdfunding. When you fund a charity it’s more like a donation & you get small innovative rewards like a shout-out on an FB page or a thank you email from the beneficiaries
