Very often we hear stories about a leopard falling into a pit, a kitten being stuck in a pipe, or a leopard that is injured. There are thousands of wildlife and domestic animals that face major threats every day. This happens mainly because as humans we have invaded their habitat resulting in animal-human conflict, our lack of empathy, increased trading in illegal animal trafficking, etc.
The landscape that surrounds us and the amazing wildlife that thrives in it has vastly changed over the last decade - the growth in urban development, shifts in agricultural patterns, and climatic changes have led to an increasing number of wildlife coming into conflict.
There is an urgent need to rescue these voiceless animals and rehabilitate them.
The Pune-based NGO - RESQ does exactly that and much much more. They operate mainly in Maharashtra and have come to the rescue of tens of thousands of animals since their inception in 2007 !!

THE BEGINNING, COSTS AND RANGE OF ACTIVITIES.
Maharashtra is home to a diverse population of wild animals, many of whom are key species identified to be globally declining. The Pune-based NGO - RESQ provides emergency aid to animals in distress. Thousands of wild animals come to RESQ annually who are either injured, sick, orphaned, or victims of wildlife trafficking and illegal captivity.
Since 2007, the rescue and rehabilitation work of the NGO has provided aid to thousands of animals of over 200+ species, improved public health and safety outcomes, and actively worked on preventing human-animal conflict across multiple urban and rural ecosystems.
IT COSTS JUST INR 3000 TO RESCUE AN ANIMAL.
This includes ambulance costs, medicines, rehabilitation, animal feed, and vaccines.
WHAT DOES RESQ DO?
Animals that get stuck in difficult situations (heights, depths, and water) are rescued. Besides rescuing animals in distress, an animal hospital (in-patient care) for injured and sick domestic animals is being run for those that require treatment or surgery. The domestic animal sanctuary provides lifetime care for animals who have either lost their homes or families in unfortunate incidents.

ABOUT ME
My name is VIHAAN PRITESH GADA. I am 13 years old and in Grade 8 at the Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai.
This kit will impact students in rural areas of rural Maharashtra and improve their health, attendance, and concentration at school.
I have undertaken this campaign because I was surprised to learn that many students from low-income homes in Maharashtra do not have basic school gear like footwear or a school bag and that they often sit on the hard ground as some schools do not have desks and chairs.
Sitting down on the floor for long periods of time means 9 in 10 students will face posture-related problems. It also has an indirect impact on their eyesight and their ability to concentrate and study. Lack of footwear also leads to foot-related diseases and health issues.
The back-to-school kit costs just INR 900 and gives students a pair of recycled footwear, a recycled study mat to sit comfortably at school or home, a recycled school bag for books, and a cloth mask. This is a very small amount to impact a student. Fund INR 3600 for example and transform the lives of 4 students.

ABOUT RESQ
RESQ was founded in 2007 to provide emergency aid to animals in distress. Since then, the rescue and rehabilitation work of the organization has provided aid to thousands of animals of over 200+ species, improved public health and safety outcomes, and actively worked on preventing human-animal conflict across multiple urban and rural ecosystems.
We have evolved and always adapted to the rapidly changing needs of the environment around us. In 2007, when there was no one in Pune city to provide aid to street animals, we did that. Today, there are many focused groups working in that field, several of whom we have assisted as they began their journeys. In 2014, when there was no one to rescue abandoned livestock, we did that. Today, we still do that and much more - we ensure they never go back on the streets. In 2017, when scores of wild animals began getting affected in Maharashtra due to rapid development and shifts in agriculture patterns, that's who we went on to help.

TAX BENEFITS
Funding for this campaign is eligible for tax breaks as RESQ is a registered trust and you can avail of benefits under section 80G of the IT Act. Foreign funding is not accepted.
FAQs
Will we get to know the details of beneficiary animals?
Yes. After the money has been collected it will be transferred by Fueladream to RESQ. It will take 1-2 months after that to get details of the animals who benefitted. The NGO shall upload this on the UPDATES section of this campaign. You will then get an alert and can read details about the beneficiary.
When do I get the receipts?
It takes a week after the campaign is closed for the monies to be transferred. The receipts will start getting processed about 2 to 3 weeks AFTER the campaign is closed and will be sent to you directly.
