THE BACKGROUND:
Manoj Kumar, a 30-year-old sports enthusiast and coach at the Adventure Athletic Academy in Kanakpura, had his life dramatically altered after being involved in a life-threatening accident. As a role model for numerous young individuals, he had been instrumental in nurturing their aspirations and uplifting them through his coaching.

On the 2nd of February 2023, while riding his two-wheeler near Kirguvula, Mysore, Manoj encountered a skid and suffered a severe fall. He was diagnosed with cerebral edema and traumatic brain injury. In addition to these grave injuries, Manoj began experiencing persistent fever spikes, quadriplegia (paralysis in all four limbs), and spasticity throughout his body.

To help with Manoj’s recovery, He needs an insertion of an intrathecal baclofen pump which will help resolve his quadriplegia and spasticity in all four limbs. This implantable device would deliver medication directly to his spinal cord, reducing muscle spasticity and promoting greater motor control.
He also needs intensive neuro-rehabilitation to optimize his functional recovery. Additionally, given the severity of Manoj's condition, continued hospitalization and close monitoring are very essential.

My name is MOHIT AGARWAL, and as a concerned citizen, I am doing this initiative to save the life of Mr. Manoj Kumar.

ABOUT ROTARY BANGALORE DISHA:
Rotary Bangalore Disha is the newest club part of RI District 3190. They started it during the pandemic with 20 strong members who are determined to give back to the community. The members are a great mix of experienced youth from diverse communities and regions. The club has already started working on community service projects like providing ration kits to migrant laborers, gloves, and masks during the pandemic.
The flagship project of the club is to help build awareness as well as commit to treating pediatric thalassemia for the underprivileged.
