* Every year 10 students in Grades 9 and 11 get this.
* These students aspire and benefit from the superior quality of education they get.

* What happens to these students once they pass out of CIS and need help with their UNIVERSITY education?
THE INITIATIVE :
This crowdfunding initiative aims to ensure that scholarship students are supported through school and have an equally rewarding college experience. The funds raised through this campaign will help send brilliant students who need continued financial support for university. These academically gifted students apply for scholarships to universities both in India as well as abroad and many of them are able to obtain either part or full academic scholarships.
The aim of "CIS wings" is to support the study, living, and travel expenses of students who receive full scholarships at university along with supporting those students who receive only partial scholarships for their college programs. We hope to bridge the financial gap for these students so that they can, in fact, afford to go to their university of choice.
Diya Diraviam is this year's scholarship student.
She aims to pursue her higher education in the US or Australia. She needs our support to be able to do this. My classmates and I from CIS aim to raise INR 5L or more to help her. The more we raise the less she will stress about her funding needs. This will enable her to focus on her academics.

THE SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS AT CIS :
Scholarships are available for students entering Grades 9 and 11. The application process is open to only Indian citizens and applicants must be able to prove their financial need for the scholarship. Once the applications are received, which include an essay, along with their previous report cards, the admission team reviews the applications and shortlists candidates.
Shortlisted candidates are then invited to take the admissions test and then appear for an interview with the High School Principal and Head of School. Based on their interviews, previous school reports, admission tests, and financial needs, scholarships are awarded.

My name is Asher. I am a grade 12 student at the Canadian International School, Bengaluru.
I have undertaken this campaign because the gift of education is something that is important to any student. The children that I would like to support and give a scholarship to are doing very well in my school, despite their adverse economic conditions. I aim to support these academically gifted students with continued financial support to university including their study, living, and travel expenses.
Getting a good education will definitely transform their lives and the lives of their families. I hope to bridge the financial gap for these students so that they can afford to go to the university of their choice.

CIS WINGS :
Each year when the scholarship students graduate from CIS, they apply to colleges both in India and abroad. While they do get grants/scholarships from universities, it is not enough to help them support their college dream. We believe that we are responsible to help our fellow schoolmates transition into college and to help them achieve their academic goals. Each year, one student will benefit from the fund and as we build the fund and make it successful we can look to expand this to students outside CIS as well.
