THE BACKDROP
For children from underprivileged homes, going to school is a luxury. Many families prefer to send their children to work rather than to school. Most of them are unaware of the importance of education in one's life. Even if children attend schools, they do not have any access to notebooks, stationary, school bags etc. This results in them losing interest to study and attend classes. Limited access to basic school necessities is a huge barrier between these students and their education. Every student must have some basic school essentials to be able to learn and have fun in school.
There us an urgent need to support these underprivileged children who study at the Lemoor Govt School with learning essentials so that they get access to study materials and are able to focus better in academics.
THE INITIATIVE
Project VIDA: Providing stationery, books and basic school must haves.
We, a group of 7 students from Oakridge international school, Hyderabad, have taken it upon ourselves to provide children studying in a government school located in Lemoor, Ranga Reddy district, Hyderabad, with a school kit that will cover up all their school supplies for the whole academic year. The Lemoor Govt school has about 400 underprivileged students who study in Grades 1-10.
The school kit will consist of 8 nos of 200-page notebooks, a pencil pouch, pens, pencils, erasers, sharpeners etc. These supplies will make it easier for the students to focus on their education and ensure that they are ready to focus and excel in their academics.
The cost of each kit incl. distribution is just INR 550.

My name is SAMITH REDDY SUDINI. I am 16 years old and in Grade 12 at Oakridge International School, Gachibowli.
I have undertaken this campaign because I think it is incredible to impact the life of a child who is from a financially stressed home. For many of these parents, sending their child to school is a luxury. They are unable to buy notebooks, geometry boxes etc for their children. They do not realise that these are critical in the educational journey of their children.
The cost of providing one learning kit is just INR 550. The kit will include notebooks, pens, pencils, geometry box, etc. This will have a huge impact on their education and also lead to greater interest in academics. This will also boast attendance. Please fund my campaign as a simple act of kindness can have a profound impact on a child's life.
