Open defecation poses a serious threat to the health of children in India. Pollutes the nearby water bodies and exposes people to the danger of physical attacks and encounters such as snake bites. Girl students face shame and loss of personal dignity and risk safety if there is no toilet.

The students who attend the Zilla Parishad School are children of migrant workers and labourers. Providing them with a clean and hygienic toilet in the school will make a positive impact in their life.
SOLUTION
A toilet is a basic necessity which also promotes hygiene and sanitation. By building a Bio-Toilet, we will protect 50+ young students at the Zilla Parishad Primary School from various diseases and snake bites. The Bio-Toilet will be built using Tiger Toilet Technology which is natural, modular and efficient with a Unique Vermifiltration based Bio-Digester for on-site Waste Decomposition in Toilets. This eliminates the need for a septic tank. A Bio-Toilet is cost-effective and easier to maintain. It also helps provide vermicompost.
The total cost to construct a Bio-Toilet is INR 63000. The Bio-Toilet is constructed using Tiger Toilet Technology.

The initiative will benefit 50+ students in this school in Khed. The school has 28 girls and 22 boys who are studying in Grades 1st to 4th.

My name is SARTHAK SANGARE. I am 15-years-old and currently studying in Grade 9 at Indus International School, Pune. I am doing this campaign to impact the lives of young students in rural Maharashtra.
Through this campaign, I aim to help improve the hygiene and sanitation in the Zilla Parishad Primary School in Khed by building a Bio-Toilet for the school students. This will impact 50+ students and protect them from various risks and diseases. Tiger Toilet Technology will be used to build the Bio-Toilet costing INR 63000.
